You find yourself gunning down American soldiers, members of ‘the Damned 33rd’ who have gone native. Soon bodies start piling up-but crucially, not the bodies one would expect for a military romp through the Middle East. Only a few minutes into your first mission Captain Walker and his team realize that something is off.

Your initial goal is to track down the elusive and mysterious John Konrad 2 in a city evacuated after a disastrous series of sandstorms. The crumbling steel-and-glass structures, marked by political graffiti and home to survivors-turned-radicals, juxtaposed against sky-high advertisements and crashed yachts abandoned in the sand, form a macabre backdrop against which to portray the brutality and senselessness of war. It’s a gleaming monument to decadence, a capitalist tumor of luxury and hubris jutting out of the barren desert. Dubai is like Rapture from Bioshock, only real. The setting is one of the game’s strong points. While you tear through the desert of an abandoned Dubai, the cutscenes do a pretty good job of making you feel terrible for your actions (but never enough to stop you from loading up the next chapter and plugging every living thing between you and the next checkpoint).

The images of charred bodies, hanging, rotting corpses, and mutilated soldiers will keep your skin crawling as the story unfolds. Numerous times throughout the campaign you’re forced to make decisions where either choice feels like the wrong one. But that it even attempts the feat is admirable.
It certainly doesn’t deserve to be mentioned along with any of the cinematic masterpieces that inspired it it’s too action-packed and derivative for that. Forcing the player to reflect on the violence they are carrying out against other “humans” is a noble idea-one that the films that inspired the Spec Ops 1 explore quite effectively-but in a game where the goal of ~90% of the playtime is to shoot and kill everything that moves, the message gets a bit muddled. The game sets it aims high-instead of going for the primal engagement of mindless modern shooting games, it attempts to draw the player in with a gutsy story that deals with the mental and emotional trauma of real soldiers and the moral quandaries that they face. And for what?”ĢK Games audaciously promoted third-person military shooter Spec Ops: The Line as the Apocalypse Now of videogames.

P.s my girlfriend is amazing and she taught me how to do all this (the banner and such.“None of this would have happened if you’d just stopped. My girlfriend and I have also been running into some bugs as well. Like I said, great ideas, just sometimes poor execution. You can go guns blazing, stealth, and scope out your locations. You have multiple different entries in which you can execute your plan. As far as the game itself though, I love the fact that you can choose your heist. Competitive gameplay would be amazing while beings cops trying to figure out where the robbers are trying to strike while the robbers come up with ways to fool the cops. I think it would be interesting if they added a game mode where some people are cops and others are robbers. There is just so much potential in this type of game that isn’t being hit. The game could be a lot better, specifically if they took out all the micro-transactions. It’s a lot of fun when you play with friends. I’m going to reply Tales now and then do a review on that :). Funny enough, I actually played Tales of the Borderlands before playing this, so I felt a little left out because I knew what was going to happen ahead of time. I really enjoyed playing this and I really really want a third game. Her abilities are awesome, and I loved using them. You get little backstories as you go through the game, which was really neat. Lilith’s character is pretty much a badass.
Lilith and Roland come back in the second game (along with the other vault hunters from the first game. The story in Borderlands 2 was really good. Definitely play this one with a friend also. 54 hours of playtime, 31 of 69 achievements ★★★★★īorderlands 2 gameplay was very much the same thing, and I had a lot of fun with it.
